We know the stress you can feel when your divorce drags on and on. We will always work to move your case forward, so that you can move forward with your life.

Our Texas Family Law Mediation Practice

In the mediation process, you work with a third party, whose role is to help you and your ex-spouse find mutually beneficial ways to settle disputes over child custody and visitation, child support, alimony or spousal support, and the division of marital assets. The mediator does not make any decisions for you, and will not rule on any legal issues. Instead, the mediator will encourage you to identify and implement agreements on all issues.

The mediation process offers many advantages over the traditional divorce process. Because the mediator doesn't consider legal arguments or take testimony, there is no need for extensive discovery (gathering of evidence), so mediation can take place very quickly. In addition, because you don't need to conduct depositions or file motions, mediation can be far less expensive than trial. The mediation process also allows you to play an integral role in determining the outcome. You can propose solutions, and you have the right to reject offers in mediation that are not in your best interests.

We will work closely with you throughout the mediation process, helping you understand your rights, so that you have the best chance of getting the results you want. Our lawyers also help clients avoid family law litigation through negotiated settlements, as well as use of the collaborative law process.
