I was born and raised in San Antonio, TX and come from a big Hispanic family. I have three sisters and one brother. I graduated from James Madison High School where I was an avid track and cross country runner.
I attended the University of Texas at Austin where I double-majored in English and History and received University Honors my junior and senior years. In 2001, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and shortly thereafter I enrolled in law school.
I continued my trek up I-35 north and attended Baylor University School of Law, graduating in 2004. After taking and passing the bar, I returned to San Antonio where I was fortunate enough to get an internship with the Office of Attorney General Child Support Division. While in San Antonio, I also worked for an attorney who had a growing family law practice. This began my career and interest in all things family law.
Shortly after this time, I was offered a job with The Carlson Law Firm, P.C. in Killeen, Texas and I moved to Austin where I began working as a family law attorney representing soldiers and military service members in their divorces and family matters. I was in the courtroom several times a week and learned the ins and outs of family law in Bell and surrounding counties. It was trial by fire, but a great way to get familiar and comfortable in a courtroom.
After about a year in Killeen, I was offered a job with an Austin law firm, where I continued to practice family law, but this time in Travis and Williamson counties. I was mentored under a seasoned family law attorney for four years, where I learned to litigate, negotiate and where I honed my skills. In the fall of 2011, I came to work with The Rubin Law Firm, where I continue to practice family law to this day. I still love running and in my free time you can find me on Ladybird Lake trail, spending time with my dog, or going to a Longhorns football or baseball games.
