I am a native Texan. I was born and raised in Austin. I am the youngest of four children and I grew up in a neighborhood just north of The University of Texas campus. As a teenager I spent my summers working on a dairy farm in New Hampshire. I graduated from McCallum High School in 1986. I went on to attend The University of Texas, where I earned an undergraduate degree in Government in 1992. From 1984 to 1993, I worked as an auto mechanic, first at Malibu Grand Prix and then at a Mobil station in north Austin.
In 1993, I enrolled in law school at Texas Tech University. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1996. After graduating from law school I worked for two years as a briefing attorney for Justice Don Reavis at the Seventh Court of Appeals in Amarillo, Texas.
In 1998, I returned to my home town of Austin to begin my career as a “Plaintiff’s Lawyer.” Since 1998, I have represented individual Texans on a contingent fee basis against greedy insurance companies and corporations. I have also represented many individuals and small business owners on an hourly basis in commercial lawsuits.
Since beginning my law practice I have handled many different types of cases, including car wrecks, legal malpractice, product liability, burn injuries, industrial explosions, faulty home foundations, fraud, libel, breach of contract claims, insurance claims, medical malpractice, work place injuries, civil rights, premises liability and an array of other contractual and personal injury cases.
Many of the cases I have handled involved catastrophically injured clients. However, many other cases involved clients who were simply being taken advantage of by an insurance company.
